H.A.S.T. Exchange
The Hank Aaron State Trail Exchange or (H.A.S.T. Exchange) was a summer long project exploring Milwaukee’s bike trail that runs through an industrial corridor and river valley. A portable booth that fit into my bike basket was created and used at different spots along the trail as an exploration outpost; to attract visitors and instigate conversation.
I documented my time running the H.A.S.T. Exchange booth both digitally and analog. A blog was created and populated with pictures, videos, and drawings of each visit to the trail. Trading cards with drawings, informational poetry, and maps were created and distributed at the EXCHANGE booth, local businesses, and events.
After a summer of traveling and exploring a series of 13 trading cards were developed each card boasting a different unique vista. Drawings of these off the beaten path locations are accompanied by short informational poems, and a map of how to find that beautiful spot on the back. Cards were distributed at community events and at a nearby nature center.
